Midlands law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys has strengthened its hand with the appointment of five new partners.

The new partners enhance the construction, employment, HR, commercial property and litigation teams in Cheltenham, Worcester and the Thames Valley, and their moves are accompanied by promotions to senior associate and associate for other colleagues.

The promotions go to:

•    Construction and engineering expert Lucinda Baker
•    Cheltenham-based employment and education specialist Emilie Darwin
•    Elaine Fisher, director of HCR’s sister company Eagle HR, based in Worcester
•    Commercial property expert Claire Leyshon, based in the Thames Valley, and
•    Commercial litigator Jenny Raymond, based in Cheltenham

Rod Thomas, the firm’s managing partner, said: “Our newest partners bring passion and care, as well as outstanding legal knowledge, to their work, and our clients benefit from that powerful combination.”

In addition to the partnerships, commercial property lawyer Annabel Hull, based in Cheltenham, has been promoted to senior associate, along with Jemma Price, based in Hereford; residential conveyancing solicitors Jane Mayglothling and Kate Potter, based in Hereford, and technology and media specialist Orlando Wells, based in the Cheltenham corporate team, have been made associates.

HCR has 450 staff and partners based at offices in Worcester, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Hereford, the Wye Valley, and the Thames Valley.

Warwickshire law firm Band Hatton Button has announced a series of senior promotions.

The appointments see Michelle Gavin, Head of Wills, Trusts and Probate, Tracy Cross, Head of Family, and Malcolm Thomas, Partner in Litigation all elevated to board level.

Three senior associates, Helen Bowns in Family, Marta Fisher in Corporate & Commercial and Dina Parmar in Commercial Property have also been promoted to partners.

As well as these promotions, the firm has recruited 20 new people over the past year to cope with the increased demand for its services.

Worcester law practice Hallmark Hulme has bolstered its family law department with the appointment of an experienced solicitor.

Helen Hanson joins a six-strong team at the Sansome Place based firm, which has been operating for 226 years.

The mother-of-two, who hails from the Black Country, completed her legal practice certificate at the former Birmingham College of Law and spent seven years with Talbots Solicitors before moving to Worcestershire to work for Thursfields.

Lesley Bartlett, head of family law at Hallmark Hulme, said: “We are delighted to welcome Helen, whose wide experience in all matters relating to divorce and separation will further strengthen our team.”
