Universities agree cybersecurity collaboration

The University of Wolverhampton has signed a new agreement with a Canadian university to collaborate on research into cybersecurity.

The agreement sees the Wolverhampton Cyber Research Institute join forces with the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) at the University of New Brunswick.

The two institutions will collaborate on an applied research and development project and organise an exchange programme for research fellows.

A memorandum of understanding was signed recently by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Professor Nazira Karodia, and Director of the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC), Professor Ali Ghorbani.

Professor Karodia said: “We are delighted to have signed this new agreement with the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity.

Increasingly cybersecurity is a major concern for businesses, organisations and individuals, and the University of Wolverhampton has significant academic expertise in this area.

“We are looking forward to collaborating on research into this important field and enabling scholars to gain international experience through an exchange programme.”
