West Midlands Business Masters winners revealed
The NEC Group and Purity Brewing were the big winners at the West Midlands Business Masters tonight, taking home two awards each.
Venue operator NEC Group won the Large Business award, following a year of growth after LDC took the business private, and its chief executive Paul Thandi was named Ambassador for his leadership of the group and its 1,800 staff.
Warwickshire-based Purity also did their own double, winning the Fast Growth and Small Business awards. The craft brewer has a growing reputation and also has the financial performance to match – doubling its sales in two years while significantly increasing its profit margins.
Alex Turner, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “It was a fantastic evening that celebrated the achievements of businesses, large and small, from across the West Midlands.
“The strength of the entries for the awards meant that only the very best companies made it onto the shortlist and they should all be very proud of their success.”
It was a successful evening for professional services firms, with Catalyst Corporate Finance winning the International Trade award and business advisory firm PKF Cooper Parry named Employer of the Year. Change consultancy Curium Solutions was the winner of the Professional Services category.
Michelin, which has its UK headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent, won the Contributing to the Community award and Aston Manor Cider was the judges’ choice for the Innovation award. The Medium Business award went to SSE Audio Group.
The black-tie awards dinner was held at Edgbaston Stadium and hosted by Jack Woodward.
