Tree Group branches out

A Warwickshire company is looking to tap into the area’s thriving automotive and motorsports sector in order to secure growth.

The Tree Group, based in Leamington, provides an outsourced sales service to its customers.

It is looking to companies operating in the automotive supply chain which need help identifying new opportunities.

The Tree Group is the brainchild of Steve Smith and James Walters, who pooled their talents to set up the firm last year.

The company, which received initial support from the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce through the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme, is now embarking on its own growth strategy.

“We offer businesses the chance to tap into an experienced sales team and add to their ranks on a subscription basis,” said Mr Smith.

The business employs five people, including the two founders. The others being Laura Hayward, Charlotte Simpson and Georgia McLaren – the latter pair joining on an apprenticeship scheme.

“We can see real value in investing in apprentices and passing on the knowledge and skills that we have to offer,” said Mr Walters.

Martyne Manning, from the chamber of commerce, provided the initial mentoring to the business.

She said: “I am pleased that Steve and James took on apprentices, this is something that the chamber has been encouraging more businesses to do over many years.

“It’s a chance to invest in people and build up their skills and understanding, offering real experiences of different industries.”

The Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, in partnership with Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council and the District and Borough Councils.
