Manufacturers’ organisation appoints Midlands director

Charlotte Horobin, Midlands regional director, EEF

EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, has confirmed the appointment of Charlotte Horobin as its Region Director for the Midlands.

Ms Horobin had been serving in the role on an interim basis following the departure of former director Richard Halstead to a new role within the organisation.

Ms Horobin joined EEF three years ago as membership and External Affairs Manager and had been acting in the interim director capacity for the last nine months.

Commenting on her appointment, she said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at such an important time for manufacturing in Britain as the new Industrial Strategy takes shape, and I am looking forward to working with our member manufacturers across the Midlands region.

“EEF is a key player in the business community of the Midlands and it will have a crucial role in ensuring the region’s future economic success. Manufacturing is vital to help the UK economy continue to grow in this difficult period post Brexit, and at a regional level EEF must continue its work to ensure the sector receives the support it needs to flourish.”

Charles Garfit, Membership Director, EEF said: “Along with my colleagues on the Executive Board would like to thank Charlotte for the excellent work she has done since taking on the role as Interim Region Director for the Midlands.

“Since joining EEF she has built up an excellent reputation with both members and colleagues alike.  I look forward to working with her and continuing to grow our membership in the region and the value we bring to them.”

Mr Garfit is also new to his role, having recently joined the organisation from Santander Corporate & Commercial where he was head of manufacturing.
