A West Midland cleaning services business has expanded with the acquisition of a rival company in the region.

Leamington-Spa based Bowdraper, which provides cleaning services to offices, schools, colleges and others, has acquired Sutton Coldfield-based Orion Cleaning Company.

Bowdraper, which has more than 40 years’ experience in the contract cleaning sector, covers a broad area across the Midlands including Coventry, Birmingham, Rugby, Northampton, Leicester, Derby and Warwick.

Complementary firm Orion has been working in the same sector for the past 25 years.

The deal, the terms of which have not been disclosed, was advised out of the region.

Thursfields Solicitors’ corporate team, led by Tim Edwards, a corporate senior associate, advised Bowdraper on the corporate, employment and commercial property aspects of the transaction.

Mr Edwards said: “We are delighted to have advised Bowdraper on this latest acquisition. We wish them all the best for the future and look forward to supporting them as the business continues to progress.”

Andrew Parkin, director and shareholder of Bowdraper, said: “It was a pleasure to work with the corporate team at Thursfields who were there on hand to guide us through every step of the transaction.”

Leamington Spa and Coventry accountants Harrison Beale & Owen also advised.
