Traffic Alert: Drivers warned of 90-minute delays to M5 after serious accident

Recovery work has been completed and all lanes have been reopened. Congestion is reported to be easing.

Motorists are being warned of delays of up to 90 minutes on the southbound M5 following a serious accident in which a car has overturned.

There are currently three lanes closed along the section of road between Junction 4a, the connection with the M42, and 5 (Droitwich).

Roads around Bromsgrove are reported to be very busy as drivers look to avoid the queues.

The accident is not expected to clear until around 2pm and in the meantime, drivers have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys or to avoid the area if possible.
