JLT Specialty is expanding its Birmingham operations ahead of a recruitment drive in the months ahead.

The risk and insurance advisers have taken space on the first floor of 45 Church Street, and will move 50 of its staff down from the third floor.

The vacated space will become home to JLT’s trading division, which currently has 78 staff and is planned to have around 90 people by the year end.

Lee Anderson, head of JLT’s trading division, said: “JLT’s trading division creates specialist, London based roles and operates them from the Midlands region.

“The growth of trading as a business model has been phenomenal, which is a testament to our staff, our stakeholders and the relationships we have forged over the past two years.”

The firm is also moving its Nottingham office into larger premises this summer.

JLT’s corporate team based across the Midlands now has 60 professional staff, operating in a number of specialist teams including food and agriculture, construction, and engineering and manufacturing.

Sally Swann, JLT’s head of the Midlands, added: “Following our success over the last few years, we are delighted to be moving offices and expanding.

“We have an ever-growing team of professional and experienced corporate risk and insurance advisers and we hope that our new offices will provide us with the space to continue to grow the team in the Midlands.”
