Restaurants prepare for opening at Waterfront site

The £1.5m second phase of development at Walsall Waterfront has been handed over to the incoming tenants ahead of restaurant openings later this month.

Five Guys, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Cream’s and Subway are moving in to the multi-million-pound complex. The latest development has added 11,000 sq ft of dining space.

Wakemans, working on behalf of developer Kier Property, has now handed over the buildings, which are being fitted out ahead of their launches. The second phase completes Kier Property’s involvement in the Walsall Waterfront scheme.

Seinde Balogun, director at Wakemans, said: “Kier Property has successfully regenerated a 17-acre site that enhances Walsall town centre by providing a host of quality leisure facilities, which will not only benefit the local community but will also help to attract visitors and promote inward business investment.”

The first phase of the leisure scheme, which opened in July last year, is home to Pizza Express, Chiquito’s, Greene King, Bella Italia and The Light Cinemas.
