Motor trader invests millions in new Jaguar Land Rover dealership

How the new showroom will look

A Jaguar Land Rover dealer has invested a multi-million pound sum into the development of a new showroom in the Black Country.

Jardine Motor Group has appointed national building contractor Speller Metcalfe to construct the new showroom in Wolverhampton.

Work on the new showroom is underway on an old industrial site off the Penn Road which has sat derelict since 2004. The new facility should open in late 2018.

Jardine Motors Group operates more than 70 dealer franchises around the UK, including the Wolverhampton Audi showroom, off Ring Road St Georges in the city centre.

The new JLR showroom will incorporate a large internal showroom with a combined space for 18 Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, together with a workshop, service area and reception.

Des O’Neill, group managing director for Speller Metcalfe, said: “We’re excited to be working with Jardine Motor Group on this new project which will support the ongoing growth and regeneration of Wolverhampton.”

Steve Pettyfer, group property director for Jardine Motors Group, added: “Our new dealership facilities for the Jaguar Land Rover brand will be the largest in the group and we are very pleased to have appointed local contractor Speller Metcalfe to deliver a project we can all be proud of.

“The showroom will provide a boost to the local economy by redeveloping an old industrial site which has sat unused for more than 10 years, as well as creating new jobs in addition to the 48 staff who will move over from Wolverhampton’s existing JLR dealership.”
