Automotive insulation specialist makes progress on return to profitability

Automotive insulation specialist Autins Group has reported a net loss of £1.7m in the 18 months to 31 March 2025, but says it’s making solid progress toward a return to profitability.
The Warwickshire-based firm, known for its patented Neptune acoustic material, recorded sales of £31.1m, up from £22.7m in the previous full year.
Gross profit also rose to £9.9m, with margins improving to 32.1%.
Sales in the latest six-month period dipped slightly to £9.6m, down 2% from the previous half-year, mostly due to lower volumes in Germany and Sweden.
Gross margins and EBITDA both improved, reflecting stronger operational efficiencies, particularly in the UK and German arms of the business.
While the business remains in the red overall, a small net profit in the final quarter is being seen as a sign that cost-cutting and efficiency efforts are working. Net debt also fell to £1.1m from £1.6m a year earlier.
Autins said it continues to win new UK and EU contracts, which are expected to boost revenues in the second half of FY26.
The company flagged potential short-term disruption from changing US tariffs on automotive components.
Given this uncertainty, the company has delayed reinstating market guidance but said it remains committed to doing so later this year once conditions are clearer.
