Electronics group’s figures put it in Solid State

Electronics group Solid State has seen revenues rise 12% as its growth strategy continues to deliver.
The Redditch-based group, which specialises in computers and products for industry, increased sales to £22.5m in the six months to September.
However adjusted pre-tax profits were down by one-fifth, to £1.6m.
Tony Frere, chairman of Solid State, believes the figures demonstrate the progress the company has made.
He said: “The success of the growth strategy in action is amply demonstrated by the 9% organic growth in the computer business unit and near 20% growth in the distribution division in the period. The board expects the strategy to deliver across other business units in a similar fashion.
“Despite the reduction in the margin as a result of the mix of product sales, the markets that the company services are resilient and that the group can deliver a strong second half performance and continue to deliver growth for the company and its shareholders.”
