Traffic Alert: M5 closed after serious lorry fire

Drivers using the M5 southbound are being warned of long delays following the closure of the southbound carriageway at Junction 4, the exit for Bromsgrove, while emergency services deal with a serious lorry fire.

Traffic is being diverted over the junction using the exit and entry slip roads, however, there are long delays in the area.

Highways England has forecast 40-minute delays getting around the incident and has advised motorists to consider using alternative routes such as the M42 and M6.

With rush-hour approaching, delays in the area are building with queues back to Junction 3, the exit for Halesowen.
