Strong exports boost full year performance for ceramics firm

Companies like Churchill China could be put under pressure from overseas manufacturers

Strong exports have helped to boost full year performance for Stoke-on-Trent ceramics manufacturer Churchill China.

The company, which produces tableware for the global hospitality and retail sectors, said in a full year update that results were now likely to be above expectations.

“We have continued to make solid progress against our long-term objectives throughout 2017,” said the firm in its statement.

“Revenue growth has again been good in export markets. As a result, the board now expects operating performance will be slightly ahead of current market estimates.

“Additionally, cash and deposit balances are also expected to exceed current market expectations.”

The company intends to announce its preliminary results for the year to December 31, 2017 on March 27 2018.
