Developer acquires former offices following apartments conversion

Century House

A former office building in Solihull which has undergone conversion into a block of 26 apartments has been sold to a Birmingham developer in an undisclosed deal.

Barberry Developments has purchased Century House, Stratford Road, Shirley from Cushman & Wakefield’s residential team, which was acting on behalf of the building’s owner, Revelan.

Revelan completed the residential conversion, in addition adding a further ground floor retail unit to the building. This is let to C Bastock Funeral Directors.

Joe Williams, associate in Cushman & Wakefield’s Residential team said: “We are delighted to have delivered the successful sale of Century House.

“Revelan has created significant value to the property by converting what had been dated office accommodation into 26 new, high quality apartments and added an additional fully let retail unit.

“Shirley has a fast moving and rapidly improving residential market. The area benefits from an improved retail offering and the regeneration works being carried out by Lioncourt on the old Powergen site will undoubtedly improve the outlook of the property.”
