Housing group acquires 100 homes to strengthen provision of affordable properties

A West Midlands housing group has acquired a portfolio of more than 100 properties in Warwickshire to strengthen its affordable housing provision.

Harris Lamb’s residential land team brokered the deal on behalf of client Persimmon Homes.

The houses, located at sites in Coventry, Rugby and Leamington, have been acquired by West Mercia Housing Group.

Chris Jones, Head of Residential Land for Harris Lamb, said: “We are delighted to have acted for Persimmon in securing these sales, which will see high specification homes in quality locations sold to West Mercia.

“It is good to see an increasing number of quality and affordable options for those entering the housing market for the first time.

“These sites will go a long way to meeting West Mercia Housing Group’s target of providing 500 new homes per year.”

The properties are part of a substantial number of on-going sites in the Midlands being developed by Persimmon Homes.

Harris Lamb is also preparing to sell further land on behalf of a variety of clients, in Worcestershire, the Black Country, Birmingham, Warwickshire and South Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

“With the need for more new homes across the UK remaining a high-profile issue, it is encouraging to see so much activity within the region to help fulfil that demand, for all types of housing,” added Mr Jones.
