City centre hotel to invest in conference expansion

Birmingham city centre hotel, Park Regis, plans to relaunch its conferencing facilities with a £650,000 open-plan conference space.

Following the closure of its £3m Rofuto restaurant earlier this year, the 16th floor, 1,250 sq ft facility will be remodelled space with 360° views, designed to accommodate up to 240 delegates.

In addition, existing conference facilities on the 15th floor will be turned into meeting rooms and break-out areas, with a reception and bar area.

In total, the hotel plans to be able to accommodate 450 conference delegates across both floors when the project is completed in the summer. It will be fitted out by Tang Interiors, a group company of Birmingham-based Colmore Tang Construction.

Mark Payne, Park Regis’ general manager, said the investment will ensure the hotel remains one of the city’s leading hotel venues for conferences and business events.

“It has given us an opportunity to completely rethink our conference offering… and it will really enhance our existing facilities. Whether businesses and organisations are planning day events or overnight conferences, we are confident that Park Regis will continue to deliver unparalleled corporate facilities and services to delegates,” he said.
