Contractor appointed to build IM Group’s £30m HQ

BAM Construction has been chosen to build the £30m headquarters of IM Group in Solihull.

The property group is being forced to relocate because its current home is on the HS2 route and is being compulsorily purchased.

IM Group is moving from Coleshill to the Fore Business Park in Solihull, and bringing more than 250 jobs to the area.

The new HQ will be a state of the art campus style development. Centred around a two and a half storey main office building, the campus will include a cafe and gym, IM’s charity HQ, and other buildings for its car distribution business and training facility.

David Hartley, who will manage the project for BAM, said: “This is a very high specification development. During the tender discussions the client gave us a sense of their ambition, which is for a very impressive structure both externally and internally.”

BAM is also delivering the internal fit out for the buildings on the new campus.

Tim Wooldridge, IM Properties’ managing director, said: “We are pleased to be working with BAM as a tried and trusted partner and we are confident that the team will work well with our in house project delivery team to create our ambitious designs for the new HQ.”
