Wasps sign up law firm for five seasons

Wasps have signed a five year deal with the law firm Wright Hassall to be become its legal partner.

Wright Hassall, which is based in Leamington Spa, is the Regional Law Firm of the Year, and it won the Wasps business in a competitive pitch against a strong field which included national firms.

The deal means that Wright Hassall, which employs more than 350 staff and were founded in 1846, will undertake the bulk of Wasps’ legal work and their name will appear on the 1st team shirt for next season in the Gallagher Premiership.

Phil Wilding, a partner at Wright Hassall said: “We have got to know Wasps well since the club first moved to Coventry. They have made a massive impact in this area and we are delighted to have won the right to represent them. We have a string of mutual clients and worked alongside them on a number of initiatives including representing our region at the MIPIM property conference.

“The deal will give us great visibility. Both domestic and European rugby is growing and it also means that our staff will get to watch some of the highest quality rugby.”

Nick Eastwood, Wasps CEO said: “We knew Wright Hassall becasue they are very active in the regional business scene and very committed to this area, and their approach to the bid mirrored ours. They have looked at our needs with a very fresh and flexibile approach and to have that in a law firm who are also based locally is exactly what we wanted. We are certain it will be a very fruitful partnership.”
