Long delays on M6 near Birmingham

Commuters face a frustrating journey home with long delays in both directions on the M6 motorway near Birmingham.

Highways England said there are currently delays of over an hour in both directions on the M6 in the West Midlands due to an incident involving a tractor which fell off a low-loader trailer, and came to rest in the central reservation.

The vehicle has now been moved, however 1 lane is closed in both directions within J8 due to barrier damage.

Delays on the northbound carriageway are back to junction 5, while southbound are back to junction 10A, and also affecting the M54.
