Green light for major industrial park development

Plans to build a new 200,000 sq ft industrial/warehouse development near the M6 in Walsall have taken a step forward after planners gave the scheme the green light.

Antringham and Brackley Property Developments have announced that Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council planners have granted outline planning consent for the Reedswood Park development.

They said ‘scores of jobs’ will be created when the development is completed.

The 10-acre site will comprise units, for sale or to let, ranging from 10,000 sq ft to 200,000 sq ft. Potential occupiers can acquire bespoke design and build premises to suit their individual requirements.

Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has been appointed as joint agent with Fisher German to market the site, which sits adjacent to Reedswood Retail Park.

Matt Tilt, director of industrial agency at LSH Birmingham, said the development offered a rare opportunity where occupiers can secure bespoke facilities on either a leasehold or freehold basis.

“Reedwood Park is in an excellent location, just over one mile from the town centre and just a few minutes’ drive to junction 10 of the M6.

“It is a rare chance for a would-be occupier to commission a bespoke design to meet its specific demands and units are being offered on either a leasehold or freehold basis. With proposed £65 million works to begin on improving the roads around junction 10 to begin in 2019, it means occupiers will be even better connected.”

Mike Price, partner at Fisher German, added: “There is a dearth of well-connected development opportunities across the Black Country and along the M6 corridor. Reedspark Park is ideally situated to access the major population centres in the region and nationally.”

“The added benefit of being able to either purchase or lease a purpose designed premises should be attractive to the market.”
