Rosconn Strategic Land builds positive momentum for 2019

Rosconn Strategic Land have had a very busy and productive year in 2018 and are set to continue this positive momentum into 2019.

The team has continued to increase in quality with the addition of Sonia Colwell as lead office administrator and Ugne Staskauskaite joining the planning team to broaden the knowledge base.

Rosconn received their first legal challenge on a planning permission in West Oxfordshire that was secured following a planning appeal. A daunting and costly process, but with the outstanding work of Thea Osmond-Smith from No. 5 Chambers, the planning permission was successfully defended and a buyer has now been selected to deliver the much-needed housing.

The team have also been busy working closely with a number of Neighbourhood Plan groups, helping to secure a number of draft housing allocations that will deliver vital rural housing for those struggling to get on the local housing ladder, whilst also providing meaningful benefits for the local community.

Rosconn pride themselves in identifying local aspirations and turning them into reality by working with key local stakeholders to ensure delivery.

In 2018, Rosconn were selected as preferred land promotion partner on a number of land parcels, several of which have Draft Plan allocations. A detailed understanding of the site and the quality of Rosconn’s presentation have been deciding factors in being selected. As a result, our portfolio of sites has continued to grow and we now have almost 5,000 plots at all stages of the planning process.

Rosconn continue to maximise landowners’ financial return by delivering high quality, residential planning permissions in the right locations. In de-risking the land parcel by obtaining permission supported by a full suite of detailed technical surveys, the preferred housebuilder is provided with confidence that there are no barriers to delivering the housing as quickly as possible. Thus, when bidding for the land in a competitive arena, the bid levels reach a healthy level and ensures the landowner receives the full financial benefit of the value added through Rosconn’s involvement.

The Rosconn Foundation has now been established and the team are delighted that some of the profits made can be channeled into various good causes. This commitment to ‘giving back’ has always been at the centre of Rosconn’s philosophy.

More information on the Foundation can be found on our website.

2019 will be an incredibly busy year for Rosconn and the team are very excited to deliver on their business plan. This smooth delivery has been helped via the assistance of a management consultant that has worked intensively with the team for the past 12 months to improve systems and ensure that the necessary checkpoints are in place to minimise delays and maximise productivity.

The Rosconn team are extremely appreciative of all the landowners and their advisers that have entrusted Rosconn with their land. The team would also like to thank its wider consultant team for their continued dedication to Rosconn projects during 2018.
