Developer snaps up land for housing scheme

Developer Lion Court Homes has acquired a Black Country land parcel for an undisclosed sum with planning to build 84 homes.
Property consultancy Harris Lamb’s residential land team oversaw the sale of the 4.90-acre development site off Mill Lane in Langley Green, Oldbury.
The site has outline planning permission for up to 88 new homes, and the privately-owned developer has a proposed schedule of 84 properties, including one and two bedroom apartments, and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
Andy Lamb, director at Harris Lamb, said: “The residential land team has been incredibly busy in 2018, and the call from developers eager to meet public demand for housing is relentless.
“There was a great deal of demand in Mill Lane from interested buyers thanks to the location of the opportunity. Not only are there three schools close to the site, making it an ideal place to build family homes, but it is just a five-minute walk away from Langley Green railway station, with regular services to Birmingham, Stratford and Stourbridge, which makes it the perfect commuter hub.”
Work at the Mill Lane site is expected to start in early 2019.
