Birmingham’s most expensive house sold

The record for Birmingham’s most expensive house sale has been smashed by well over £1m following the recent sale of 8 Carpenter Road in Edgbaston for a reported figure of £4.875m.

The off-market deal, which was brokered by Edgbaston based estate agents Robert Powell, surpasses the previous record of £3.55m which had stood since 2011.

James Powell, director of Robert Powell said: “In this time of national uncertainty, this sale is testament to the reliance of Birmingham as a fantastic place to live, invest, and do business. We are thrilled to be a part of this record breaking transaction, even though the previous record was ours anyway.”

8 Carpenter Road is described by the agents as “One of Edgbaston’s finest homes, extending to over 10,000 sq ft of luxurious accommodation.

The accommodation includes a grand entrance hall, four reception rooms, bespoke kitchen, basement with swimming pool, sauna, gymnasium and cinema room.

There are eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms over two upper floors and landscaped grounds of approximately 0.85 acre.
