Weekender: Birmingham Cocktail Weekend returns with a splash

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend will return this summer.

Organisers are promising “even more cocktails, more venues, and more events than ever before” for this year’s event, which will run from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 July.

New Hub headliner this year will be Maker’s Mark bourbon. Their cocktail experience will mark the start of the weekend, at the Urban Room at the Mailbox.

50 venues have been selected this year from across the city – everywhere from the Mailbox to the Jewellery Quarter, and Broad Street to Colmore Row. Each venue will produce a new cocktail, exclusively for the weekend on offer only to attendees of the festival.

Speaking about five years of Birmingham Cocktail Weekend, founder of Living For The Weekend Alex Nicholson-Evans said: “What an incredible five years for Birmingham Cocktail Weekend! We’re thrilled to be celebrating our fifth birthday with what we’re certain will be the biggest and best festival to date.
“We’ve got an extra day of cocktail fun, a record number of the city’s best loved bars signed up and, most importantly, more signature cocktails to enjoy!

“Birmingham Cocktail Weekend is all about getting people to step outside of their comfort zone, encouraging them to venture further than their local to discover and experiment with new flavour combinations.

“With wristbands already flying of the shelf, more cocktail-revelers than ever before are expected to visit our incredible line-up of venues and we can’t wait to welcome them all.”
