Traffic Alert: Severe delays on M6

The M6 is currently closed from J9 to J8 southbound and J7 to J9 northbound with delays of at least 60 minutes covering several miles of the motorway in each direction.

The full road closure is due to a crash.

Diversion route details and guidance is as follows:

Southbound: Hollow Triangle diversion route

Exit M6 southbound at J9 and take the third exit onto the A461 southbound.
Continue on the A461 southbound to the A461/ A41 junction (Steel Roundabout).
Take the first exit onto the A41 southbound and continue to the M5 J1 roundabout.
At the A41/ M5 junction 1 roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the M5 south.

Northbound: Solid Diamond diversion route:

At M6  junction 7 take the exit to the A34 northbound.
Continue along the A34 to the A4148 Broadway North.
Take the exit to Broadway North and continue to the A454 junction.
Take the exit to the A454 westbound, Wolverhampton Road to M6 J10.
Rejoin the M6 northbound.
