People: Two partner promotions for Shakespeare Martineau, A dozen rise up the ranks at Cushman & Wakefield; and more

The Birmingham office of law firm Shakespeare Martineau has announced the promotion of Tom Long to partner and Ravinder Johal to associate partner.

Long is an experienced employment lawyer, specialising in the education sector, employment disputes and trade union relations. He works closely with a number of large public sector clients, as well as acting for those in the private and third sectors.

Long has been with the firm for three years.

Johal has more than 13 years’ experience advising clients in the insurance sector, with a focus on liability investigations and dealing with claims of significant value.

Cushman & Wakefield has announced 12 promotions at its Birmingham office, including four new partners.

Andrew Berry (Office Agency), Hannah Jones (Global Occupier Services), Joanna Raine (Valuation & Advisory), Adrian Vickers(Project & Development Services) have all been promoted to partner.

Andrew Broome (Valuation & Advisory), Alexander Crawshaw and Rui Gomes (both Facilities Management) have been promoted to associate while Will Arnold (Logistics & Industrial), Andrew Reid and James Sinclair (both Facilities Management), Ryan Vowles(IT) and Nicholas Worthington (Project & Development Services) are now all senior surveyor level.

A Shropshire PR firm has expanded the team with the recruitment of a former journalist and news editor.

J&PR, based in Telford, has welcomed Felicity Roberts to the team as a digital account assistant.

Roberts has worked in journalism and communications for a regional newspaper, two local authorities and a university.

Directors of J&PR Kirsty Smallman and Rhea Alton said: “Fliss has already proved to be a great addition to the team.

Lighting Reality, the Birmingham-based designer of real time lighting design software for outdoor and street lighting, has appointed a marketing coordinator to help drive the company’s global expansion, particularly into the Australia, New Zealand and Far East markets.

The company’s flagship product, Lighting Reality PRO, is an application used by lighting engineers, manufacturers, local authorities in the UK and increasingly on a global scale.

Rachel Green has joined the firm as marketing coordinator to oversee the firm’s profile and reach in UK and global markets. She holds a BA Hons degree in English Literature from the University of Worcester.

Chief operating officer Tony Cook said: “Rachel is a key recruit as we seek to establish ourselves not just in our traditional markets of the UK, Europe and Scandinavia but also further afield, building a global platform that reflects our extended reach.

“In 2019, we will see our growth occurring not just geographically but also in our product and service lines. We have a number of major announcements and product launches which we will be rolling out across the year.”
