Management buy-out at ‘much-loved’ restaurant
A popular East Midlands restaurant has changed hands after a deal advised on by local advisers.
Head of corporate and commercial, Adam Gilbert has completed a deal for clients, Leigh and Cathy Parry on the purchase of Burton on Trent’s The Winery. Wayne Penlington of Alexander Accountancy advised on the tax and accounting aspects of the deal.
New owners, Leigh & Cathy Parry, said: “We are delighted to confirm our acquisition of The Winery in Burton. This deal marks a fresh start for the historic building where The Winery establishment has resided for many years. Having previously managed the restaurant for the sellers, it feels totally natural to be returning to the business we know and love as its proud owners.
“As the steadfast legal team in Burton, Else Solicitors were the obvious firm to turn to when we embarked on this deal and they delivered in every way.”
The new owners says they have big plans to shake things up with a new concept based around their innate love of fish and quality produce which they will be showcasing at their re-launch event in June.
