Smart home tech company agrees deal with Google

Jason Elliott, chief executive of LightwaveRF

LightwaveRF, the Birmingham-based provider of smart home solutions, has signed an agreement with Google to offer voice-controlled smart lighting out of the box.

The partnership will see Lightwave RF and Google jointly market its compatible smart speakers, making Lightwave the first installed smart lighting manufacturer in the UK to offer the convenience of voice-controlled lighting in one starter kit purchase.

The Google Mini and Google Nest Hub, supplied by Google, are being made available for customers to purchase from Lightwave directly or from a selection of Lightwave authorised retailers and stockists, including AO.com.

The starter kit bundles offer launched in Germany last week while the UK is scheduled to follow later this month and other European markets thereafter.

Jason Elliott, Lightwave CEO, said: “The contract with Google demonstrates a commitment from both sides to make it easy for customers to select and buy great products that work seamlessly together to create a fantastic experience.

“The partnership also further reinforces Lightwave’s position as the brand that offers the most convenient and affordable installed smart lighting solution available on the market.”
