Discount homeware store opens 25,000 sq ft unit

B&M has signed a new ten-year lease on a 25,000 sq ft unit at Imperial Retail Park, Lichfield, with landlord Hortons’ Estate Limited.

The new retail park in Lichfield is now almost fully occupied following the latest letting, which has created more than 50 jobs.

The letting to B&M Bargains follows a previous deal with gym operator PureGym, which opened its latest fitness centre at Imperial Retail Park in April, having agreed a 15-year lease on a 7,000 sq ft unit.

Other occupiers to the 70,000 sq ft site, of which 42,000 sq ft was speculatively developed by Hortons, include Lidl and Costa Coffee with a 12,000 sq ft unit remaining available to let.

Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, said: “We’re really pleased with the success of Imperial Retail Park since its launch last year, justifying our decision to develop the former manufacturing site into a retail-led scheme.

“With B&M Bargains and PureGym added to the tenant mix, and further occupiers to be announced, we expect the retail park to be fully let very soon.”

Imperial Retail Park was developed by Hortons’ Estate following its acquisition of the site from previous owners IMI Norgren.

Four-acres of the ten-acre site, adjacent to Lichfield City FC and fronting Brownsfield Road, has outline planning consent for 68 new homes and will be developed by Orbit Housing.
