Motorcycle manufacturer set to expand with £1m capital

Mutt Motorcycles of Birmingham has received a growth capital loan facility in excess of £1m from Santander, which will enable it to invest in additional stock to support its fast-growing network of motorcycle distributors.

Digbeth-based Mutt Motorcycles aims to increase its capability as a high-growth market leader in motorcycle customisation and sales.

The company design, build and sell custom motorcycles and its headquarters on Upper Trinity Street also serves as a workshop, coffee shop and event space. Established in 2016, Mutt has moved into international markets, including Germany and Japan and has also diversified into selling apparel and parts.

“We like to think we’ve brought motorcycle manufacturing back to its Birmingham roots,” the company said. “Our bikes are created with a similar vibe to how bikes were built around here in the early days of BSA, Triumph, Enfield and New Imperial. We serve the scene with a Birmingham marque, incredible attention to detail, customer relations and pride.”

Law firm, Harper James facilitated the capital and said its payment plans enabled Mutt to access “high-quality legal support at significantly reduced prices”.

Adam Kudryl, Commercial Partner for Harper James, said: “It is fantastic to be able to support homegrown businesses like Mutt Motorcycles. We have been offering consistent, long-term support to their team since 2017, and this significant growth capital loan facility is just one of the string of successes Mutt has achieved.

“We will continue to work with Mutt Motorcycles to see that they can access the legal support they need.”
