Hair extensions business relocates to support expansion
A WARWICKSHIRE hair extensions business has expanded into new headquarters to enable it to meet demand from its growing base of overseas distributors.
Flip-In Hair, run by managing director Dayle Adams, creates hair extensions made from natural hair.
The business, which has been based in Harbury, near Leamington Spa, since it was launched two years ago, has expanded to employ 17 people. The firm has attributed much of its success to popular reality TV shows like Geordie Shore and The Only Way Is Essex.
The move to new premises at Holywell Business Park, in Southam means the firm has been able to improve its production line and widen its distribution network.
Ms Adams said: “The business has been extremely successful, partly due to women wanting to emulate stars like Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry, who have luxuriant extensions, and partly because women want the versatility to change their hairstyle at the flip of a clip.
“Since launching in 2009 we’ve experienced significant business growth and we now export to distributors in many countries including Germany, Denmark, Slovenia and Ireland. As a result of increased demand from Cyprus, Spain and Portugal, we felt it was necessary to take on larger production and office facilities. It also means we’ve created employment for local people and we will continue to recruit as business expands.”
The new site is the latest phase of a growth strategy that has seen Ms Adams develop new products and improve staff training. A number of her employees are now in the process of completing an Institute of Leadership and Management Diploma and NVQs in customer service.
“I feel it’s important to support my staff and ensure they fulfil their potential and meet the business and customer satisfaction standards Flip-In Hair needs to maintain to continue to thrive,” she said.
