Expansion for business advisory firm

A Bridgnorth business advisory firm is expanding its office space to meet growing demand from the region’s business community.

Baldwins is moving from its existing office on West Castle Street where it employs 13 people into premises on Stargate Business Centre on Faraday Drive.

The firm has had a presence in the town since the 1940s – previously trading as Turner Peachey Ridgeway Wall – before becoming a Baldwins office in 2014 which serves more than 400 owner-managed businesses across sectors such as agriculture, property and construction.

Over the past year Baldwins’ Bridgnorth office has seen its caseload increase, driven by businesses making the digital regulatory transition to reporting their VAT digitally, as well as general advice preparing for Brexit.

Audrey Williams, partner at Baldwins, said: “This office move lays the foundation for us to develop the business even further over the coming years.

“As Baldwins has acquired other practices across the UK and grown its service offering with specialist services such as leading financial software, forensic accounting, restructuring and probate – so has our workload and client base.

“The new office is also much more suitable for multiple face-to-face consultations which enables us to help more businesses – something which is important now more than ever with business owners requiring important advice about the range of digital and regulatory changes that are taking place, not to mention precautionary planning for Brexit.

“One of the more pressing issues for SME businesses currently is ensuring that they are reporting their VAT digitally – any businesses who aren’t could run the risk of a fine, so we’d urge any business owners who aren’t aware of this to contact us.

“This office move reaffirms our commitment to the Shropshire business community, and we’re looking forward to helping more businesses in the wider Bridgnorth region to thrive by identifying and negating potential risks whilst finding avenues for growth.”

Baldwins, a CogitalGroup company, has 97 offices across England, Scotland and Wales – employing more than 6,000 staff with an annual turnover of approximately £450m.
