Financial services firm hires new marketing chief

Iain Gibbons

Wesleyan, the specialist financial services provider, has appointed Iain Gibbons as its new group marketing director.

Gibbons has more than a decade of experience in director-level marketing roles and joins from Thomas Cook Money where he was marketing director. Prior to this he worked at Virgin Money where he was responsible for the creation and delivery of the Virgin Money Lab and as managing director at McCann-Erickson where he led award-winning campaigns for Bentley Motors, Procter and Gamble, and Mitsubishi.

He will lead the group marketing team as it supports Wesleyan’s strategy to deliver growth in its core markets of doctors, dentists, teachers and lawyers.

He is the latest appointment to Wesleyan’s senior team, following the arrival of David Stewart as group chief operating officer.

Stewart said: “Iain’s wealth of experience is brilliantly suited to leading our marketing function as we drive forward our strategy to grow in our core sectors and enhance our offer to customers. It’s good to have him on board and I look forward to working with him.”

Gibbons added: “Wesleyan is moving into a phase of growth and I’m excited to be leading the team that will be delivering the marketing campaigns behind this. Wesleyan has a long and rich heritage and I’m looking forward to working with teams across the business in promoting our offer to customers.”
