People: Accountancy firm makes director hire; DLA Piper appoints real estate partner in Birmingham; and more

Leamington and Coventry-based accountancy firm HB&O has welcomed Andrew Cartwright as business advisory director.

Cartwright previously worked at the firm as a senior manager back in 2012. He returns with wealth of knowledge and experience and will be taking on an established portfolio of clients, as well as working to further develop the business.

He said: “I’m excited to be returning to HB&O. The firm is in a really good place and I’m looking forward to joining such an ambitious and forward-thinking team, which has great insight into the client base, adding real value to their respective businesses.

Law firm DLA Piper continues to strengthen its real estate practice with the appointment of Katie Jacobson as a partner in its Birmingham office.

Jacobson joins the firm from Hogan Lovells and has a wealth of experience advising institutional investors in relation to development projects, acquisitions, disposals and portfolio management across the retail, office and industrial sectors.

Barclays has announced the appointment of Kam Sangha as a relationship director for the Black Country.

She joins the Barclays corporate team in the Black Country and will have responsibility for a portfolio of clients with a turnover in excess of £6.5m. She specialise in healthcare finance for care homes, GPs and pharmacies.

Sangha joins Barclays from RBS where she was a senior relationship manager.

She said: “I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to join the Black Country corporate banking team at Barclays. I am looking forward to having my own portfolio of clients and helping them to realise their business goals and ambitions. This is a varied and diverse economic geography and I look forward to playing my part in supporting and developing the local economies. I am also looking forward to supporting my colleagues across the team in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.”
