On the Make: 1,700 apprentices trained by manufacturing organisation

As National Apprenticeship Week begins, Make UK has announced that since September 2013 it has trained over 1,700 engineering and manufacturing apprentices at its Birmingham technology hubs.

The manufacturers’ organisation, whose customers include; Jaguar Land Rover, Severn Trent and Ibstock to name a few, welcomes over 350 apprentices every year to its Technology Hub in Aston, Birmingham.

Fiona McGarry, engagement manager at Make UK, said: “Apprenticeships are a great route for those looking for an alternative to university and prefer a different approach to learning. The manufacturing and engineering sector is looking for bright, talented, enthusiastic people to join apprenticeship programmes right now.”
