Overrunning roadworks bring long delays to M6

There are long delays on the M6 northbound in Staffordshire due to overnight roadworks which are overrunning due to a piece of machinery (Hiab) which has broken down within J14 near Staffordshire.

Recovery agents are in attendance working hard to repair the vehicle so the road can be re-opened as quickly as possible, says Highways England.

The carriageway is fully closed within J14, with traffic diverting around the closure via the exit and entry slips.

A statement from Highways England said: “Please allow plenty of extra time for your journey this morning if you’re travelling in the area, and consider alternative routes if possible as it is likely that delays will be significant throughout the morning peak.”
