Japanese restaurant opens in Solihull

A Japanese restaurant has opened in Solihull.

Yakinori has opened the doors to its 3,000 sq ft premises on what was formerly the site of Druckers Vienna Patisserie in the Touchwood Shopping Centre.

The Solihull branch is the latest in the expanding Yakinori brand which already includes premises in Grand Central Birmingham, Selly Oak and central Bristol.

Japanese food expert Ali Karakaya, the owner and founder of Yakinori, said: “Solihull and the south Midlands is a key market for Yakinori, with Touchwood providing the ideal base for us.

“I was really pleased with the way Robert and his team fought our corner on this matter, driving the deal forward and ensuring we fully understood the legal process and were able to complete on time.

“While the Solihull restaurant helps cement our base in the West Midlands, the plan is to expand the chain nationwide.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Thursfields as Yakinori continues to expand.”

Robert Pettigrew, head of Thursfields’ Solihull office, led the team who worked on the legal details behind the restaurant’s opening.

He said: “We were delighted to work with Ali on this latest venture for Yakinori.

“We also look forward to working with Ali on his further expansion programme and continuing to enjoy the Yakinori experience.”
