Raft of partner promotions at PwC

PwC announces further investment in its senior team in the Midlands with the promotion of five new partners.

Helen Ward in the transaction services deals team; Matthew Walker an audit partner; Chris Shepherd an audit partner in the banking and capital markets team; Matthew Woolgar, a deals tax partner; and Thomas Rees a tax partner, have all been promoted.

Ward has over 18 years of deals experience across a range of industry sectors, whilst leading PwC’s transaction services national focus on aerospace and defence and industrial manufacturing.

Walker has over 20 years experience in external audit and specialises in international markets and working with overseas owned UK businesses.

Shepherd joins the Birmingham banking and capital markets (B&CM) team from PwC’s Manchester office, and has worked for PwC since joining as a graduate in 2006.

Matt Woolgar joined PwC’s East Midlands tax team in 2012 before moving to Birmingham to help build its local deals tax team.

He has over 15 years experience advising on the tax aspects of transactions, working with a wide range of Midlands clients to complete successful transactions though tax due diligence, structuring and other specialist services.

Rees joined the firm’s Milton Keynes office as a graduate in 2006. He works with clients to assist in debt restructuring, structuring acquisitions and disposals, foreign exchange hedging and advising on the impacts of legislative change.
