People: Director leaves WSP for structural engineering firm; Copper Consultancy expands senior team; and more

James Bodicoat has left a senior position at WSP to take up the role as structural engineering director at Allcott Commercial.

Appointed as an associate partner at the firm, Bodicoat has more than 20 years of experience working with major international engineering consultants.

He has led a variety of projects from inception to completion across a range of sectors, with an emphasis on higher education, commercial, retail and leisure.

He will split his time between Allcott’s Birmingham and Coventry offices.

He said: “I’m looking forward to working with a team of highly experienced building surveyors and applying my structural knowledge to a wide variety of projects for Allcott’s existing and new clients alike.”

Matthew Baker, commercial partner, said: “James will be an excellent addition to the leadership team here at Allcott’s. His IStructE and RIBA awards are testament to the excellent standards of his work. It’s clear that he is dedicated to going above and beyond for his clients.

“As an independent company, we pride ourselves on being able to give our clients a personal service; no project – however large or small –  is just a number in a system. James’ dedication to client service shines through in all our discussions about past and future projects, and his commitment to providing expert consultancy and excellent value is clear.”

Copper Consultancy, the communications and engagement agency for the infrastructure and construction sector, has appointed two new senior members of the team to support the agency’s growth.

Charlotte Jordan joins the Birmingham-based company as account director from Arup and Charlotte Campbell joins as senior account manager from LCA.

Director of infrastructure and major projects Andrew Weaver said: “Copper Consultancy has continued to grow in new and exciting ways. We have recently launched the economic development practice and have expanded our digital offering to meet the needs and demands of a rapidly evolving market.

“The appointment of Charlotte and Charlie to the economic development and infrastructure practices represents our commitment not only to our clients but to the development of major projects throughout the UK. Their combined experience will be pivotal when it comes to the development of our offer and contributing to Copper’s continued success as a leading communications consultancy.”

Warwickshire-based automotive communications specialist Red Marlin has hired Jordan O’Flanagan as account executive.

He joins the team from The Camping and Caravanning Club, a non-for-profit organisation involved with all aspects of camping both in the UK and globally.

His former role as marketing assistant saw him focus on content writing, customer relations and campaign management.

Danny Rughoobeer, managing director and founder of Red Marlin, said: “We are excited to have Jordan join the team. His level of enthusiasm and keen interest in the automotive industry make him a great addition and I can’t wait to have a fresh pair of eyes on what we are doing here at Red Marlin. His unique skills in digital media matched with his excellent writing ability will be a great asset to our clients.”
