£8m care home set to create 75 jobs

An £8m care home under construction in Great Malvern, Worcestershire is set to create up to 75 jobs when it opens later this year.

Windsor Court, on course to be opened this summer by the Maria Mallaband Care Group, will provide 51-ensuite rooms, lounges restaurants, and communal areas.

There will also be a bistro and bar, hair salon, and eight seat cinema which will be open to the community as well as residents.

Annelli Chatfield, group commissioning manager at Maria Mallaband Care Group, said: “Ensuring our homes are part of the communities they serve is central to our approach, and that is the driving force behind this new concept for Windsor Court.

“Not only can people living and working there make use of the fantastic facilities on offer, but they will also be open to the wider community too, whether that is family members and friends coming to spend time with their loved ones, or anyone else who might want to enjoy what is on offer.”

The home is under construction by specialist nursing home contractor Lawrence Baker on the site of the disused Malvern Community Hospital which closed in 2011.
