‘Prime’ development site in Birmingham city centre comes to market

A ‘prime’ development site in Birmingham city centre has come to the market.
The 0.14-hectare (0.35 acre) site on Bow Street includes a four-storey office building, covering 0.07 hectares and adjoining car park.
Cushman & Wakefield is seeking offers for the freehold interest in the site on a subject to planning basis for a high-density development scheme.
The site is located next to Top Capital Group’s The Axium residential development and is 0.25 miles from New Street Station and Grand Central Shopping Centre and close to Birmingham’s central business district.
The period building on the site is currently being used an office building but has the potential for high density residential, student, hotel or retail redevelopment, subject to planning.
The site is located in a predominantly residential area and benefits from strong transport links being a short distance from three major train stations as well as the proposed HS2 station at Curzon Street.
The site is also 200 metres from the A38 dual carriageway.
Arthur Morga, from Cushman & Wakefield’s residential team in Birmingham, said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring a property to the market with great potential for a high-density scheme. The site is in a centrally located area within Birmingham city centre which has seen a lot of high-quality development in recent times and we anticipate interest from developers seeking to convert the site into a residential, student accommodation or hotel-led scheme.”
