Law firm secures first premises

A new legal practice is combining the law and technology from its base at offices in Redditch.

The growing use of new technology in legal services – known as lawtech – has accelerated over the past year with so many working from home during the pandemic.

Aled Evans, founder of Ubique Legal, believes that as well as convenience it offers clients greater transparency and flexibility, so he has made it the basis of his new practice.

The former Major, who qualified as a solicitor before serving in the British Army, is aiming to provide a growing range of specialist legal solutions through his new firm.

“We got in touch with commercial property agents John Truslove who have a wide range of offices on their books.

“Our offices at Clive House in Redditch are ideal for our purposes at the moment but provide flexibility and the space for us to expand as our practice grows.

“It’s tremendously exciting at the moment. New technology can revolutionise the way people access the law, making it easier, providing more clarity and importantly making it more affordable.

“For instance, our first service – www.landlordsolicitors.com – offers fixed prices. It provides a fast and affordable service for landlords who need help with regaining possession of their property, removing squatters and/or trespassers or undertaking debt recovery action.

“And we are preparing to launch a further service for corporate clients; smaller companies that don’t need a full-time lawyer but may need legal advice and assistance from time to time. It is all about convenience and clarity – that is what technology allows us to provide.”

Ian Parker, joint managing director at John Truslove, helped Aled and Ubique Legal secure 321 sq ft of offices at 5 Clive House, British Mills, on Prospect Hill.

He said: “Ubique Legal is an exciting new venture being run with drive and imagination. We were delighted to help the firm find its first offices and I am sure it will be the beginning of a long relationship as it grows.”
