Former PwC senior manager launches valuations practice

A former city adviser has established an independent advisory firm aimed at SMEs and mid-tier private equity houses.

West Midlands-based Touchstone Advisory, founded by Krekar Kawani and supported by Ian Logan, will service the tax valuation needs of a wide range of clients, including private businesses and private equity houses.

Kawani is a tax valuation specialist and former PwC senior manager who has worked on more than 150 deals involving many well-known investment houses.

He is a technical expert in providing tax valuations and commercial management incentive plans services across multiple sectors and tax jurisdictions.

Before joining PwC, he was part of KPMG’s focused tax valuations practice, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and ICAS tax professional.

Logan has a wealth of experience in the field of independent business and tax valuation, having gained his expertise in HMRC’s Shares and Assets Valuation division and as a director in PwC’s valuation team. He has also worked at C-suite level in all major industry sectors, with top and mid-tier companies.

“We are an independent practice that operates in a complex and niche area of tax valuations and are focusing our efforts on delivering a first-class service without the burden of bureaucracy and cumbersome administrative processes,” said Kawani.

“We aim to become a market leader in providing tax valuation services quickly, and we’re excited about the opportunities for growing the business.”

Logan added: “I am excited to be joining Touchstone Advisory at a time when tax valuations are under ever-increasing scrutiny across all territories. I understand and appreciate that clients need robust and defensible valuation analysis, and I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to help our clients achieve the best possible results for their business.”
