Traffic Alert: Overturned horsebox causing delays on M6

An overturned horse box on the M6 southbound within J8 (M5 link) in the West Midlands has blocked the carriageway causing long delays.

Highways England traffic officers are on scene to assist with traffic management.

Recovery are currently on scene and are in the process of recovering the vehicle.

There is around 8.8 miles of congestion on approach to the incident leading back to J11.

There are currently delays of over 60 mins above normal travel time. Road users are advised to plan their journeys in advance, allow extra time and consider alternative routes if possible.
