Convergence Group, the Birmingham telecoms provider for businesses, health authorities and retailers, has bought network specialist, LAN3.

Convergence Group says the deal will boost the business’s revenue by more than 15%.

Danny Masters, managing director, Convergence Group said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of LAN3 today – an impressive and forward-thinking technology solutions business which puts the customer front and centre. Together, we are determined to shake up an industry that is traditionally inflexible in how it delivers for consumers. Our totally unique subscription-based model gives back control to our customers, allowing them to decide what they need for their business.

“Our shared expertise and commitment to best-in-class service makes this an exciting merger and I cannot wait for our customers to reap the rewards.”

Martin Jones, managing director, LAN3 said: “Today marks an important milestone in LAN3’s journey and we are thrilled to become part of the Convergence Group team. Joining Convergence Group means we can continue to deliver for our customers – but on an even greater scale – offering them the flexibility, technological freedom and autonomy over their network connectivity that should be on offer for every business in the UK.”

Birmingham-based Convergence Group provides connectivity services to public and private sector organisations across the UK, supporting nearly 800,000 business user connections. The company employs a subscription-based model – akin to paying for water, gas and electricity.
