The Birmingham office of DWF has welcomed six newly qualified solicitors – five internal and one new hire.

In addition, eight new appointments, including associates, senior associates and a director, have been made over the past three months, taking the total number of staff employed in Birmingham to over 150.

Jon Stevens, managing partner of DWF’s Birmingham office said: “We are delighted to bolster our team in Birmingham through the recruitment of these legal professionals. Increasingly we are working on cross-jurisdictional projects as part of a single global team and this presents great opportunities for our people, as well as offering more effective and efficient services for our clients. We can therefore expect five new colleagues to join us between now and January 2022.

“While our proposition clearly differentiates us from the market, we remain focused on the needs of our local client base and will continue to recruit, develop and nurture the best new talent to ensure excellence in service delivery.”

He joins Colmore Capital as an investment associate, bringing with him seven years of asset management and transactional experience as a former associate director at Avison Young, involved with over 70 deals.

He will primarily be responsible for the origination and analysis of new opportunities throughout the UK to strengthen Colmore Capital’s portfolio.

Cohen said: “Whilst I was fortunate to spend seven great years working at Avison Young, I am looking forward to working in real estate private equity.

“Colmore Capital’s clear vision, cross-sector knowledge and analytical approach to investment was an incredibly attractive proposition. I’m excited to join such an acquisitive firm and look forward to growing our portfolio.”

David Corridan, co-founder at Colmore Capital said: “Sholom has an outstanding track record and combined with his ambition and keen understanding of the markets, he’s a perfect fit for the business.

“Part of Sholom’s role will be to focus on identifying new opportunities for us, helping us to ensure that we grow our portfolio in the right way and delivering a pipeline of desirable, well-located assets. The regional markets have demonstrated significant resilience over the last 18 months and there is a strong sense of returning confidence.”

The appointment represents a key part of the company’s growth plan to bolster the current portfolio, with live assets including Quartz Point in Solihull, AMH55 in Aston, Swift 34 at Rugby, Wavendon Business Park near Milton Keynes, and Bedfont Lakes Business Park in West London.
