MANUFACTURING software supplier Delcam has been named as one of the top three firms in its sector by an independent global consultancy.
CIMdata has named the Birmingham firm as the third largest CAM software vendor globally in 2010, in its annual report on CAM software vendors. It is the third consecutive year in which Delcam has been ranked in the position.
In the same report, CIMdata confirmed AIM-listed Delcam’s position as the leading CAM specialist globally – one whose primary business is focused on the provision of CAM software and services – with Delcam achieving the highest vendor revenues and end-user payments of all CAM-centric companies. This is the 11th consecutive year in which Delcam has been ranked in this position.
According to the CIMdata report, Delcam’s share of the CAM marketplace in 2010 increased to 6.7% from 6.5% in the previous year.
For 2011, CIMdata has predicted that Delcam will increase its market share, making it one of only three businesses in the sector to show growth.
The report suggests the total value of the CAM software and services sector will rise by around 6% this year to something near £865m ($1.41bn).
Clive Martell, Delcam’s chief executive, said: “Delcam’s success is underpinned by our focus on research and development. We provide the world’s most comprehensive collection of machining software and can also ensure that each of our programs is the most productive for each of the sectors in which we operate.
“This gives us an ability to provide solutions for all the programming needs a manufacturing company may have. Larger companies can meet all of their CAM needs from a single supplier, while smaller companies can choose exactly the system they need for their particular combination of products and machine tools.”
