Developer plans commercial scheme next to railway station

Godwin Developments has secured a site in Uttoxeter which it intends to transform into a commercial development for the Staffordshire market town.

The Brookside Road site is opposite Uttoxeter railway station which is used by more than 165,000 people every year.

The land is also located near a 22,873 sq ft Lidl supermarket in Town Meadows Way that opened in October.

Nikesh Solanki, development manager at Godwin Developments, said: “We are thrilled to have secured this prominent site in Uttoxeter and we are looking forward to transforming it into a new commercial development.

“Sitting opposite Uttoxeter railway station and near the A518 – which connects Uttoxeter to Telford, in Shropshire, via Stafford and Newport – the site benefits from a busy and highly visible location, providing the perfect spot for a commercial operator to reach not just local customers but also those from further afield.”

Law firm Shakespeare Martineau provided legal advice on the deal, while commercial property consultancy Rushton Hickman acted as land agents.
