Gaming company adds more entertainment centres to portfolio

Gaming company MERKUR Slots has opened a further two entertainment centres in the West Midlands – creating another 20 jobs in the process.

The new centres, which are located on Scots Corner in Kings Heath and in the Sandwell Centre in West Bromwich, follow recent openings in Smethwick and Acocks Green.

So far, MERKUR Slots has created 40 jobs and announced £800,000 of investment in the area since September.

The openings are part of a nationwide programme that will see MERKUR Slots invest over £10m on UK high streets over the next six months.

Mark Schertle, chief operating officer of MERKUR Slots’ parent company MERKUR Casino UK, said: “We pride ourselves on our continued investment in UK high streets, and so it means a lot to be able to support the local community and economy in the West Midlands through the creation of these new jobs. Every new venue we open creates an average of 10 local jobs and we are well on course to have created 500 jobs nationwide by the end of the year.”
